How to Use Your Planner
Let’s face it, a one-page pdf planner is probably self-explanatory BUT I’d like to give you these tips to make the most of the Waiting Time Productivity Planner.
1. Start Your Day with Purpose
Take 5–10 minutes in the morning (perhaps over coffee or breakfast) to fill out your planner. Reflect on your top priorities and what truly matters. Think through when and where you will find yourself waiting that day and what quick tasks or self-care actions you can accomplish during those moments.
2. Keep It Handy
Place your Waiting Time Productivity Planner in a visible or easily accessible spot, such as your purse, car, or kitchen counter. This makes it simple to reference and use throughout the day, helping you stay focused and on track.
3. Reflect and Adjust
At the end of the day, review what you accomplished. Jot down any unfinished tasks or ideas in the Notes & Ideas section to carry over into tomorrow (‘cause you’re gonna to another Waiting Time Productivity Planner tomorrow, right? 😉) This reflection helps you celebrate your wins and plan for ongoing success.
What’s Inside the Planner?
Ok, let’s get into the nitty-gritty of the planner and dive into each section….
Top Prio9rities
First, let’s start off with focusing on what matters most today. Write down 1–3 goals that serve as your “North Star.” These can be big overarching goals that align with your life values or small bite-sized goals that can be done within a day:
- Meaningful: “Be present with my kids.”
- Task-Oriented: “Plan my child’s birthday party.”
- Personal Growth: “Take 10 minutes for self-care.”
Your top priorities/ goals do NOT need to align with your quick tasks, but they can if it makes sense for your day.
Wait Times & Where
Think through your schedule and note when and where you’ll have waiting time. By planning ahead, you can turn downtime into a productive opportunity. Examples include:
- Where: School, doctor’s office, sports field
- How long: 15 minutes, 30 minutes
Quick Tasks List
Write down small, actionable tasks you can tackle in under 15 minutes:
- Replying to emails or texts
- Scheduling an appointment
- Creating a quick grocery list
When those waiting moments arise, you’ll have a ready-to-go list to make the most of your time!
Self-Care Reminder
Don’t forget to prioritize yourself! Use this section to note at least one self-care activity for the day, like:
- Taking 5 minutes to meditate
- Enjoying a favorite podcast
- Drinking a full glass of water
Notes & Reminders
Capture ideas, inspiration, or tasks to revisit later. This is your space to unload your thoughts and stay organized.
